Firefox OS for mobile!

Yes, you read it right! Mozilla after its OS for PC/Laptop is now entering into the mobile market.

Its called as Firefox OS. Lately geeksphone has started developer phones (Keon and Peak) using this OS for developers.

"This week we are announcing our new Firefox OS developer preview phones because we believe that developers will help bring the power of the web to mobile. These developer phones are being developed by Geeksphone in partnership with Telefonica. We are looking to make them available in February."

The Keon model

• Screen 4.3″ qHD IPS Multitouch.

• Camera 8 MP (back) + 2 MP (front).

• 4 GB (ROM) and 512 (RAM).

• MicroSD, Wifi, Light and proximity Sensor, G-Sensor, GPS, MicroUSB, Flash (camera).

• Battery 1800 mAh.

The OS looks somewhat like the iOS. Better match for iOS eh?

The developer OS looks stunning but will it compete with other OSes like the Android (much loved), iOS, Windows Phone 8.
